Beyonce Stuns In Denim
Back in 1985 Levi’s ran an ad dubbed “launderette” starring heartthrob Nick Kamen. It was a simple premise: get a good looking guy to strip to his briefs, chuck his Levi’s 501’s jeans in the washer, and then chill out as various customers at the laundromat thirst after him. Almost literally the most naked example of sex sells there is. All this with Marvin Gaye’s I Heard it Through the Grapevine cranking in the background. Suffice to say it blew up. Europe was in love with Levi’s after this ad, and the song shot to the top of the charts again.
Now Levi’s is dipping back into the well, with this generations bombshell Beyoncé recreating the iconic ad.
“Denim on denim has often been seen through a male lens,” Beyoncé says, “so this reimagining campaign, which celebrates the iconic female perspective, is important to me. I look forward to exploring innovative ways for our visions to align in empowering women and honoring their strength.”
