DEADLY PONIES: Stucco’n You
If this summer heat we’ve been sweating through hasn’t brought to mind deserts then the Deadly Ponies Resort ‘24 collection ‘Stucco’ definitely will. It’s designed to transport customers to Cuadra San Cristóbal, a residence and equestrian estate near Mexico City.
Built-in the 1960s, the complex is a striking example of Modernist architecture designed by Mexican architect and master of colour, Luis Barragán. The complex boasts vast stable grounds encircled by vibrant stucco courtyard walls, painted in shades of pink and purple. Architect Barragán, an avid rider for whom horses held significant importance, crafted Cuadra San Cristóbal as a sanctuary. Through intricately designed walls and openings, Barragán masterfully elevates horses into living sculptures.

Deadly Ponies’ Resort Collection ‘Stucco’ heroes Cuadra San Cristóbal’s iconic pink stucco walls—seen in both light and shadow—with sumptuous Smoothie-toned Calf Nappa and a vibrant Jelly Lamb Nappa.

Bright yellow Noodle Calf Nappa brings the heat, appearing in Deadly Ponies’ coveted Calf Nappa and pleated Calf. Resort hue, Cardboard, provides a grounded base to the seasonal colour palette, with a soft Cardboard Suede evoking the sweeping texture of the sandy stable floor.

Deadly Ponies’ Resort Collection also marks the return of summer favourite, the Rush capsule. A selection of new silhouettes showcases hand-crocheted regenerated natural raffia fibre.
