Family Values
The Mazda CX Range
There’s a certain point in your life when a 2-door sports coupe is a good idea. A good sign that it is no longer a good idea is when you are forced to leave half of your family unit on the driveway when you want to pop into town. SUVs of course are a great solution to this problem, and most will give you the ability to not only cargo the children around, but maybe even the in-laws, the family dog and a suitcase or two. Of course, like anything, there is a compromise; moving to a bigger vehicle brings with it the handling of a bigger vehicle. This impacts corning, acceleration, efficiency and braking. But it doesn’t have to be about going from one extreme to another. Mazda’s CX range quite literally is a really nice Crossover series. A range of vehicles which have the practicality of SUVs, but with the comfort and handling cues of smaller, nimbler machines.
And like any family, the CX range is a mix of personalities. The baby of the family is the CX-3 which is a compact 5-seater SUV with a luggage capacity of 264L. It might be the smallest of the range, but it comes with a bundle of tech, including Skyactiv technology that makes it a lot of vehicle for its $31,995 + ORC base price.
Its bigger sibling is the CX-5, which comes in Skyactiv petrol or diesel engine options and front or all-wheel drive. Starting from $40,995 + ORC. The CX-5 has a cargo capacity of 455L.
Next up is the 7-seater Skyactiv diesel CX-8, which is priced from $56,495 + ORC, which again packs in a good mix of luxury, refinement and tech into its medium-sized SUV frame. This includes the latest i-ACTIVSENSE safety technologies like a Traffic Sign Recognition system and Intelligent Speed Assistant, Lane-keep Assist, Departure Warning System and Blind Spot Monitoring.
The biggest of the range, as you might have assumed if you like patterns, is the CX-9 which comes in at a base price of $59,695 + ORC. Powered by the Skyactiv turbo petrol engine, this 7-seater SUV utilises all of the technology at its disposal to create a driving experience that belies its size. A really cool feature is also the full-colour Active Driving display projected on to the windscreen.
Another family friendly aspect is of the CX range is Mazda Finance’s No Deposit Interest-Free offer. For a limited time, drive away in any new CX-3, CX-5, CX-8 or CX-9 with No Deposit Interest-Free Mazda Finance over 36 months.
That’s bringing value to value.
