Property Manager, Kritika Sharma, On Women Who Inspire
I’d name my autobiography…
A Little Rain for a Rainbow.
To me success means…
being happy and content in life. Being a success without happiness is meaningless.
I made my first dollar:
Within the first few days of arriving in New Zealand as an immigrant, I helped my dad with a painting contract in order to survive in the country.
The most rewarding part of my job…
is being able to meet and build a relationship with a diverse range of people. For tenants, we are able to reach out and make them feel welcomed in their new home.
Life motto:
Stop waiting for Friday, for summer, for someone to fall in love with you, for life. Happiness is achieved when you stop waiting for it and make the most of the moment you are in now.
My goals for 2019 are…
Further my education in property whilst working fulltime and hopefully be able to do a bit of travelling. There is also work in progress to purchase my very first rental investment property.
The women who inspire me:
is my mother who has done exceptionally well raising three daughters with great values. Her limitations of resources did not weaken her. Also, my extremely hard working mother-in-law. She has two jobs as well as three big burly boys in the house, as well as grand kids to look after.
The gender stereotype I can’t stand:
Are the societal biases that grant women less authority than men.
The main challenge for women in business is…
Most women are career people who have families, spouses and other responsibilities. Demands from personal and professional commitments can pressure some women to abandon these responsibilities.
Gender diversity in the workplace is…
essential to develop innovative ideas from different backgrounds and experiences.
I advocate for change by…
not underestimating myself because of my gender and striving to do my best at all times.
The change I want to see in 2019 is…
for people to overcome racial discrimination because racism isn’t born, it’s taught. “We are one”.
