Surreal Scenes
Experience the weird world of the 20th Century’s greatest surrealist artist, Salvador Dali, in this upcoming multisensory exhibition. Combining cutting-edge technology, imagery, real objects, and illusions, audiences will become immersed in the artists’ works via a 360 degree mirror room, floor-to-ceiling high-resolution moving imagery of his masterpieces and interviews with Dali himself.
Direct from Florence Italy, Inside Dali will be shown at Spark Arena in Auckland on 28 May, followed by the Air Force Museum in Christchurch on 11 July.
Nature Boy: The Photography of Olaf Petersen
isplaying the works of talented Auckland photographer, Olaf Petersen, Nature Boy examines the boundary between nature and humanity. Predominantly showcasing the landscapes of West Auckland, it is the artist’s first ever solo exhibition, after recently being inscribed onto the UNESCO Memory of the World Aotearoa NZ National Register in recognition of his work’s significance for documentary heritage. Shining a light on Petersen’s love for the natural world, this beautiful exhibition is a must for those who feel the same way.

The Picasso Century
For those looking to head over the ditch, a visit to National Gallery of Victoria’s upcoming Pablo Picasso exhibition is a must-do. The Picasso Century showcases the extraordinary works of one of the 20th century’s most famous artists, featuring over 70 of his own works, as well as over 100 works by 60 of his contemporaries. Looking at his career through his personal, artistic and intellectual engagement with his peers,
this is one not to be missed.
