Wellington’s most eclectic precinct turns into a dynamic stage, as Australasia’s biggest free multi-arts festival, CubaDupa is back for 2019. The family-friendly weekend-long event is designed to be a celebration of creativity and art, and includes visual art, food stalls, kids activities and 250 performances from a range of disciplines. Now in its fifth year, both local and international artists converge for the jam-packed event, promising to be one of inclusion, immersion and artistic exploration.

Auckland Arts Festival

New Zealand’s biggest arts festival returns for its eleventh year this March for two-and-a-half weeks of world-class theatre, gallery shows, music and dance. This year, over 42 events will take place throughout the festival, celebrating people and culture and shining a light on the issues of today. With events ranging from a concert from indie band Death Cab for Cutie, to Pacific Sisters, a gallery show exhibiting the work of New Zealand’s groundbreaking Pacifica fashion designers, arts and performers of the ‘90s, this year’s festival is set to be another memorable event.

Broods

New Zealand brother-sister pop duo, Broods, released their third album, Don’t Feed the Pop Monster, last month and so are returning to New Zealand to tour the much-anticipated record. With the album’s first two releases, Peach and Everything Goes (Wow) gaining acclaim from critics, the much-loved Kiwi band is sure to draw in large crowds for their two shows in Christchurch and Auckland in March. Having toured with the likes of Taylor Swift, Sam Smith and Ellie Goulding, Broods are now well-versed in the world of big concert tours and fans can expect to hear both new and old displays of their fun and upbeat brand of pop.
