Things To Watch And Do This Winter
M2woman’s top picks of the things to watch and do this Winter.
Valerie Taylor: Playing with Sharks
A documentary telling the story of legendary Australian conservationist and scuba diver, Valerie Taylor, who has campaigned for the protection of sharks throughout her life.
A pioneer in the world of marine documentaries, Valerie and her late husband, Ron, were the first people to film sharks without the protection of a cage and Valerie regularly used herself as bait to attract the sharks they filmed.
An inspiring film about a fearless woman who continues to fight for the protection of marine life to this day.
Streaming on Disney+ from 23 July.
The Suicide Squad
The sequel to 2016’s Suicide Squad (note the addition of ‘The’ at the beginning), this action-packed super hero movie brings back the old favourites of Margot Robbie, Viola Davis and Joel Kinnaman, and adds in even more star power with Idris Elba, Pete Davidson and Taika Waititi. Loud, fun and a little bit silly, this made-for-the-big-screen movie is guaranteed to be an in-your-face good time.
In cinemas 5 August.
Nine Perfect Strangers
Based on the book of the same name by Lianne Moriarty, and starring Nicole Kidman, the series follows nine strangers who sign up for a stay at a self-improvement and wellness resort. However, the resort doesn’t appear to be what it first seems, as the guests’ secrets come to the fore.
Streaming on Prime Video from 20 August.
