Work To Wellness
A strong commitment to work is often seen as a positive attribute in the business world. Dedication and determination can only be a good thing, right? While it may be good for business, this dedication can sometimes have a negative impact on our health, both mentally and physically.
A recent study conducted by Spark has shown 67% of participants say that the stress of work impacts their physical health and fitness, level of happiness and personal life, while 77% said they find themselves thinking about their business and struggle to switch off when not working.
To tackle these findings, Spark has created Recharge by Spark, a health and wellness programme for their business customers. Offering packs and programmes to support a healthy body and mind, in partnership with some of NZ’s leading SMBs, Recharge by Spark is designed to improve the health of business owners through three wellness pillars: nourish, move and calm.
The programme includes food boxes from suppliers such as No Ugly and Woop, a 12-week Les Mills programme, and 1-year access to the Take A Breath programme to manage effective breathing.

Forget Perfection
Many of us spend our downtime on social media, scrolling through the feeds for inspiration, education or just as a way to switch off. However, these feeds can often perpetuate comparisons between ourselves and others, giving us unachievable expectations of our lives and it’s these expectations that could be the very thing holding us back, according to Auckland business coach, Natalie Tolhopf.
Natalie has been coaching businesswomen for five years, after leaving a well-paid corporate job and has seen the highs and lows of running a business, including that all too common imposter syndrome.
To inspire women and help them realise their business dreams, Natalie has penned the book, Allergic to Perfection. Telling stories of failure, success and everything in between, Allergic to Perfection will encourage you to banish the addiction to perfection and let go of the fear holding you back.
